Service Description

On the surface it just looks like twirling a rope around. In reality it is so much more. The rope acts as an extension of your own body, which means the quality of your movement is expressed and felt in the rope. The key thing to understand is that the rope is a FEEDBACK TOOL. Every single rotation offers a data point for you to refine your feedback, which happens on both a conscious and subconscious level. So simply by rolling the rope you will get better at it. And the practice contains patterns that relate to all athletic human movements meaning getting better with the rope has tremendous carryover. The founder David Weck calls it the ‘Rosetta Stone of Movement’. Exactly what qualities you develop depends on how you use it. Broadly speaking everyone will develop coordination, proprioception, spinal engine (running and walking), weight shifting, mobility and more. To give a specific example, if one wants to work on their tennis serve, they could get hundreds of repetitions, each with real-time feedback, in a matter of minutes without needing to stop to pick up a ball. It keeps joints healthy and benefits the nervous, immune and digestive systems, providing many of the benefits of tai chi without needing to learn 24+ steps. In the interest of brevity I’ll list only one more benefit but know that the list goes on. It’s FUN! I started doing it because injuries kept me away from lifting weights, I continued doing it because of the benefits above, and nowadays I do it mainly because it’s fun! I implore you to try it out, there is very little to lose and so much to gain 🌀
